Terms of Service
Plain-language terms for using Smalledger. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.
What Smalledger is
Smalledger is a bookkeeping and invoicing tool. It helps you record income and expenses, send invoices, and see reports. It is software you use to organize your own numbers — it is not an accountant, a bank, or a payment processor.
Your account and your data
Keep your login details secure; you're responsible for what happens under your account. The data you enter is yours. We store and process it only to run the service for you, and we don't sell it. Please keep your own copies of anything important — see "As is," below.
Fair use
Don't try to access other people's data, break or overload the service, or use it to do anything unlawful. Each account's data is private to that account.
Payments and email
If you accept online invoice payments, those are handled by Stripe under its own terms — we're not the payment processor. Email and hosting also rely on third-party providers.
Not professional advice
Anything Smalledger shows you — including tax estimates and reports — is for information and organization only. It is not tax, accounting, legal, or financial advice. See the Disclaimer. You're responsible for your own filings and decisions.
As is / early access
Smalledger is provided "as is," without warranty, to the extent the law allows. It's still evolving: features may change, it may be interrupted, and during any preview period data may be reset. We aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data — so keep your own records of anything you can't afford to lose.
Ending your use
You can stop and delete your account anytime. We may suspend access if these terms are broken or to protect the service.
Changes
We may update these terms. When we make meaningful changes we'll update the version above and, where it matters, ask you to agree again.
